Although these vitamins are present in food, many men do not get enough to keep sperm volume at a healthy level. It can be very beneficial to take a natural supplement to make up for any dietary deficiencies.

If you smoke, vitamins can be particularly important to your fertility. When you smoke, your body loses antioxidants, which are found in fruits and vegetables. This can cause your sperm to clump together, and be less efficient. A daily vitamin will help you avoid this condition, called agglutination.

Zinc has been studied as an effective mineral for both male and female fertility. Zinc assists with the growth and formation of sperm, and can raise testosterone levels. You will find abundant levels in zinc in pumpkin seeds, shell fish and red meat.

Amino acids and essential fatty acids are crucial to the development of sperm. Amino acids are involved in the production of sperm, and men who take supplements containing it have shown increased sperm counts. Semen contains prostaglandins, made from essential fats, and if a man is not getting enough essential fatty acids, he may suffer from a low quality sperm count and poor motility.
