While you can't eliminate all of the stress you may feel during pregnancy, you can take steps to increase relaxation and improve your mood.

Pampering ourselves is something Ask for help from friends or family, whether you need a hand with the laundry or picking up your other children from school. Friends and family will probably be more than willing to help you, so don't suffer in silence if the dishes are piling up while you're dealing with morning sickness. Try not to be hard on yourself if you don't finish all of the chores, or have a day where you can't get out of bed. You don't have to do it all!

Exercise can keep you physically fit, but it also releases endorphins, which can regulated your mood and improve your sleep patterns. You'll notice that you have more energy if you start a fitness routine, and you'll feel better at the end of the day. Just make sure that you consult your doctor before you start any form of exercise.

Getting at least 8 hours of sleep each night can be a big help when it comes to reducing stress. If your baby is active at night, play soothing music and gently massage your belly. Take naps when you need them, even if that means snoozing on the couch at 10 am. Avoid drinking beverages right before bed, and stay away from caffeine. Make sure you're getting plenty of water during the day, as this can improve your mood and prevent headaches.

With the demands of daily life, the last thing we may think about is enjoying a bubble bath or booking a massage. However, you need to take time for yourself, and unwind if you're feeling stressed out. Light some candles and catch up on some reading, or try that new spa near your home. Pregnancy massage can help you stay physically relaxed, as well as eliminate muscle pain and soreness. Having your partner rub you down with some aromatherapy oil can be a wonderful experience, so get him involved in your pampering.

Spending time with your partner can be very calming, and too many couples neglect one another when they are parents-to-be. Set aside some time each evening to just connect with your partner, and make dates to go out together or just watch a movie at home.
