Continue Reading Alia's Hospital Birth At 8:10, they started the Pitocin, and by 8:20 the nurse said the contractions were about 2 to 5 minutes apart. At this point my OB came in and broke my water. It was only as uncomfortable as a pap smear and I was fascinated by the amount of liquid and how hot it was. At 8:30 they upped the Pitocin.
